90% of Alabama now rain-free.

A few additional rainfall amounts:

0.68 in Bankhead National Forest
0.55 in Decatur
0.52 in Huntsville
0.61 in Muscle Shoals
0.81 in Hamilton
0.66 in Clanton
0.63 in Livingston

WHERE IS THE LOW PRESSURE AREA?
Now centered over the NEcorner of Mississippi and the NW corner of Alabama. It is a strong low pressure area so it is windy across Alabama. Late examples:

31 mph gusts at Montgomery Airport and 61 degrees
29 mph gusts at Ozark and Troy
30 mph sustained at the Downtown BHM Skycam with gusts to 51 mph
39 mph gusts from the SSW at the Downtown Tuscaloosa Skycam
35 mph gusts from the SSW at the Hamilton Skycam
40 mph gusts at the Inverness Skycam
44 mph gusts at the Skycam atop Mt. Cheaha

Colder air is spilling in from the NW in the wake of the low pressure area. Temperatures in the 50s across North Alabama and NE Mississippi but in the 40s over NW Mississippi. Some examples of the contrast.

61 in Montgomery
66 at Troy and Ozark
45 in Tunica, Miss. (Extreme NW)
46 in Memphis
