Everything is quiet on the home front.
The big show is over.
We bit the bullet.
Late this morning, two narrow bands of light rain extended across the state.
Way down south, a line of heavy showers and even some thunderstorms extended from near Fort Walton, Fla., to near Dothan, Ala., and into SW Georgia. The line moving slowly SE. This represented a cold front. It was in the 60s over NW Florida while much of Alabama was experiencing a chilly day.
WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN
That was a moisture-plentiful storm system last night and we had a close call with serious icing. If the temperatures had been 5 to 7 degrees lower, we could have had one of the most damaging ice storms on record.
