We want to say again that this is not a major icing event for Alabama and was never expected to be.
The Winter Weather Advisory for almost the north half of Alabama goes until 6 pm mainly for an occasional mix of light freezing rain and light sleet. There could be some spotty bridge icing especially on the more elevated ones and also on roads with very little traffic.
Temperature should fight their way up to the mid-30s later today.
So far today, icing has been reported moreso north and NW of Birmingham. Several school closures. Check the end of this report for a list of those from 33/40 News Dept.
