Lamar County warning being allowed to expire…activity over Lamar County is less organized.
Warning continues for Fayette and Marion Counties until 1045. Marble sized hail was reported in Winfield.
The storm in Noxubee County Mississippi up into Lowndes County seems to be a bit better organized. This activity will affect the Pickens County area in about 30 minutes. The Columbus radar just picked up a TVS on this storm.
In the Tennessee Valley…a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Lawrence and MOrgan Counties. That activity is moving into western Morgan county now.
All of these storms are capable of producing hurricane force winds that can overturn mobile homes, cause damage to homes and buildings as well as tree and power line damage.
In addition, the more discrete cells still are capable of producing isolated tornadoes, so we don’t need to let our guard down. Any segments that bow could be indicative of strong straight line winds.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 3 a.m. CST.
