Conditions are becoming very ripe for major tornado activity over West Alabama, especially from Tuscaloosa down to Demopolis.
Activity over eastern Mississippi will almost certainly intensify as it crosses into Alabama.
We will watch storms coming out of Noxubee and Kemper Counties (severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect.)
A lone storm has developed north of Tuscaloosa. It could quickly become severe in the rich airmass. It will have to be watched.
Late report…damage at Enterprise High School. That is probably the storm of the
Tornado watches cover all 67 counties of Alabama…western half until 6 p.m….eastern half until 8 p.m. Both are PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) tornado watches.
Virtually the entire state in under a HIGH RISK outlook for severe weather except for the northeast corner of the state, which is under a MODERATE RISK…so not much better.
