Showers have developed across North Central Alabama this morning generally within a 50-mile radius of Birmingham.
At 7:15, the showers were over Chilton, Bibb, and Shelby County. They were moving toward the NNE.
They were not heavy but there were a few spots of moderate rain especially along the Shelby-Jefferson County line.
No lightning so far.
So, the morning rush hour streets and highways will be wet in some areas.
This is our first chance at measurable rain in 14 consecutive days. We got almost 1/2 inch on March 1 at Birmingham during the tornado outbreak and not a drip since–until this morning.
Would have been better if this morning’s rain would have waited until after the morning rush-hour.
Only question, when does the morning rush hour end? About the time that the afternoon rush begins???
