Just before 11 am, almost all of the rain has moved eastward out of Alabama. Just a few patches of light rain or sprinkles near the Georgia-Alabama border.
Now, our attention turns to the NW where colder air is quickly spreading across the state. The cold front has already reached Central Alabama.
Late this morning, the ole thermometer was showing middle 40s as far south as Birmingham. It was still in the mid-60s over the south third of the state.
NW winds were gusting as high as 30 mph in the Tennessee Valley making it feel much colder. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect.
The sun is beginning to break through over the far NW corner of the state. It will be clearing over the rest of the state this afternoon and this evening.
Lows by morning in the chilly 30s over the north and central counties.
