Thanks to Lisa Wallace for these images, taken in the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend… she writes:

“Hi James,
We went to Gatlinburg this past weekend and I have some beautiful pictures of ‘snow on the mountain’ I’d love to share with you. It was 19 deg at Newfound Gap Saturday morning; snow was obvious on Mt. LeConte from the town and as we went up in elevation, the ‘snow’ (actually more like old snow-icey deal) was more and more evident on the shoulders of the road. But the TREES—took my breath away! And, I have to add, it is the first ‘official’ snowfall that my 6 yr old daughter has ever seen!! :-)”
