* 67 degrees is the warm up expected by tomorrow afternoon at Embarrass, Minnesota. They had a low of 21 below zero this morning, but the forecast is for 45 to 48 as a high tomorrow. Meanwhile, they will have a mix of light sleet and freezing rain tonight along with some thunder and lightning.
* 21 March 1932 was the worst tornado day in history for Alabama with two waves of tornadoes–one in the afternoon and another after dark. Bill Murray is writing a series of articles this week about that great weather event on the 33/40 blog.

* 0.32 is all the rain that Birmingham got in March 1918. Those two stats show you that spring weather can be very erratic. 6.10 inches is the normal rainfall for March.
* 891 people was the death toll in a horrible heat wave in New York City in July 1972.
* 15 April is the average date of the last snow in Minneapolis.
* 40 days of river flow on the Mississippi River through New Orleans is the estimated equivalent of the water that fell on the USA during the Blizzard of ’93. (rain and snow melt)
* 12 is the estimated number of doughnuts that I will be force fed during the Southeast Severe Weather Symposium at Mississippi State University this coming weekend. My last doughnut was a year ago.
