A new severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the remaining portion of North Alabama as well as Central Alabama.
It goes all the way until 5 a.m. CDT.

BLOUNT… CHEROKEE… ETOWAH… FAYETTE… JEFFERSON… LAMAR… MARION… PICKENS… SHELBY… ST. CLAIR… TUSCALOOSA… WALKER… WINSTON
A line of intense thunderstorms will be moving southeastward into Central Alabama later tonight. It will be weakening with time, but the threat of a fairly widespread damaging wind event is there. There could also be a couple of isolated tornadoes. Large hail to golfball size could occur. Lightning will be abundant also.
Please pay close attention to the weather overnight. If you live in a mobile home, please plan to go to a more substantial structure well before thunderstorm winds arrive.
