A very quiet weather pattern continues to unfold for Alabama for the next 7 to 10 days, rather unusual for late April and early May.
We will continue to mention the chance of a few isolated showers over the northern part of Alabama tomorrow afternoon with an upper level impulse swinging through, but significant rain really doesn’t look likely since the low level air is so dry. The best chance of a shower will be north of I-20, and even there most likely the showers will be few and far between. If you like the numbers game, the chance of a shower at the Talladega Superspeedway tomorrow is only about one in ten. The high will be in the low to mid 70s tomorrow afternoon.
Sunday promises to be a beautiful day with ample sunshine and a high in the upper 70s. Then, next week begins with warm and dry weather Monday through Wednesday with afternoon temperatures soaring into the mid 80s. There will be a definite feel of summer around here next week as humidity levels will slowly rise as well.
Once again we really don’t see a major rain event on the GFS through May 13. We might have a shot at weakening cold front drifting down here on a couple of occasions; sometimes those situations can bring some decent rain events. But, the primary jet stream action will remain well to the north of here through mid-May if the GFS is on the right track.

I sure enjoyed seeing the second graders today at Shades Cahaba Elementary in Homewood; be looking for them today at 5:00 on the KIDCAM on ABC 33/40 News. Hard to believe we just have a few more weeks left in this school year.
Tomorrow I will be speaking to all of the participants in the 3 on 3 basketball event at Hunter Street Baptist Church; the weather looks great and we are expecting a big crowd. I hope you have a wonderful weekend; Brian Peters will have the Weather Xtreme videos here over the weekend; my next one will be posted by Monday morning at 7:00!
