Interesting situation tonight as our large cluster of storms over Shelby County collapsed.
It sent out a strong outflow boundary that fired storms all along it from eastern Bibb into eastern Tuscaloosa and western Jefferson Counties. It looked like one of those military cluster bombs going off.

Rainfall amounts have been on the light side. Radar shows the best amounts may have been over Elmore and southern Tallapoosa Counties where as much as two inches may have fallen. Some decent amounts in Chilton County too, from that larger complex of storms.
The activity has been associated with an easterly wave that is moving westward through Alabama. It should continue to go downhill this evening as the heating of the day diminishes.
