Be sure and watch for Brian’s video discussion a bit later. I will be headed to church soon to teach my Sunday School Class and afterwards I have security detail. It will be this afternoon before I post again but I will be doing the afternoon edition and Monday morning editions for Bill. James will be back in the saddle Monday. He and the Spann family enjoying a well-deserved break on the Alabama Coast.
Brian is in Chicago and Bill is in Boston. Bill is a bigger baseball fan than some of the major league team owners. Hope he and Sally gets to see the Yankees-Red Sox game tonight but Barry may have something to say about that.
Almost forgot that today is our 47th wedding anniversary but we will celebrate later. May even pop a rare brown-sugar-cinnamon poptart. In all those years in weather, we learned early that it was best to celebrate events sometimes offset by a day or two from the real date. We sometimes had Christmas on December 23, or even the 27th depending on family work times. Me with round-the-clock shifts with the NWS that changed every week and off days changed every month. Our son is a fireman with the Birmingham Fire Department (Station One, downtown) and Center Point Fire Department so he had changeable off days . We never let things that we do not control bother us, otherwise we would all have elevated blood pressure by now!
In other words, life goes on.
Did not mean to write all that. Back to the business at hand:
A few very light showers were about to fade away completely in Central Alabama at 8 am. They were over parts of Chilton, Bibb and South Shelby. Because of an upper level situation approaching from the west, we will se some scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. You may even have about a 1 in 3 chance of getting wet.
Not a drought eraser by any means. Watch the blog during the afternoon.
