Have you noticed how it feels outside this morning? There has been a distinct change in the atmosphere across Alabama in the last 36 hours. This morning you can really feel the moisture in the air. Dew points are all above 70 this morning. Recently during all the dry weather, our dew points were in the 50s and 60s.

Translation: This means a better chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight and possibly part of Saturday. Just before 11:00 a.m., a line of thunderstorms with a lot of lightning extended from the SE tip of Oklahoma northeastward through West and North Arkansas, the Missouri boot heel, extreme NW Tennessee, extreme West Kentucky into Southern Indiana. This line of storms will be moving slowly toward the SE.

Severe Thunderstorm Watches were already posted from the Cincinnati/Louisville area down across the west half of Kentucky and Tennessee into extreme North Mississippi and much of Arkansas.
