***No Weather Xtreme video this morning**
I am speaking at the West Alabama Leadership Prayer Breakfast this morning in Tuscaloosa, and won’t be able to produce a video due to the travel schedule. I will have the afternoon edition of the Weather Xtreme video posted by 3:30.
ALL IS CALM: The new guidance suggests no major surprises through Friday. The upper ridge holds, and we will enjoy sunny warm days and clear pleasant nights through Friday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, with lows mostly in the 50s. Some low level moisture will begin to return Friday, but there is no trigger for any rain.
THE WEEKEND: A cold front will bring the risk of a passing shower or Saturday afternoon. The 00Z GFS hints the best chance of a shower or storm will come in the 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. time frame. This won’t be a wash-out, and the rain shouldn’t be especially heavy, just be aware that you might have to dodge some raindrops. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a cooler airmass in place. We are projecting highs in the mid 70s on Saturday, followed by low 70s Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: For now it looks like the first half of next week will be dry, but an upper low to the west will put us in an unsettled, southwest flow aloft during the latter half of the week, with a chance of significant rain in the April 21-23 time frame. Still no sign of a serious severe weather setup here for the next 15 days.
WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. We will record this week’s new episode tonight; it should be posted by 12:00 midnight.
