As expected, the better chance of getting a thunderstorm this afternoon is over on the east side of the state.

At 1:25 pm, several thunderstorms were in progress over Randolph and Chambers counties close to the Georgia border. Probably the strongest one was over the SW corner of Randolph County. Some of these are already producing locally heavy rain.

There were also some scattered storms over Lee County in the Auburn/Opelika area.

Further west there were a few over Central Talladega County.

In West Alabama, a small shower was developing over SW Tuscaloosa County and several others in SW Alabama over SW Marengo County and Clarke County. The favored movement was toward the SE.
