A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Blount, Etowah Counties till 7:45 AM CDT.
The most dangerous part of this storm is between Cleveland and Oneonta…
As it moves northeast…large hail is possible toward Clarence and Snead.
Can’t rule out a tornado from Oneonta up to Altoona and Walnut Grove, so be watching this one. No indications of rotation on radar, but there is a lot of spin in the atmosphere already over Alabama, so any updrafts that form will rotate. And it just seems that storms in that area tend to produce tornadoes very easily.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Oneonta NOAA Weatheradio transmitter is off the air. Tune to the Birmingham transmitter on 162.55. It is being programmed for Blount County warnings.
