…HEAVY RAIN THREAT INCREASING?…
The scenario depicted by the GFS and the RPM today may be coming together to still produce heavy rain over Central and East Central Alabama tonight.
Watching radar data showing storms blossoming to the west of Meridian. Showers are also picking up into Pickens County
This could lead to increasing rainfall from Sumter/Green and Pickens Counties into Jefferson/Shelby/Chilton and points northeast.
Just spoke with WeatherBrains guest Sheldon Kusselson from NESDIS…he says there is still quite a surge coming out of the Gulf of Mexico…but he couldn’t see a trigger. The models have been picking up on the heavy rain potential all day. It will be interesting.
