One of my favorite sounds is rain falling.

I am enjoying it tonight here from the Trussville office of The Weather Company.

So far, not many problems in the Birmingham area.

That’s not the case in the Tennessee Valley, where reports of flash flooding are coming in from southern Tennessee and North Alabama, especially in an around Madison County, AL.

The primary band of rain now extends from Southwest Alabama up through the Clanton/Autauga County area and on in to eastern Alabama.

There are still showers and and storms over West Alabama, from NW Tuscaloosa through Walker, Winston and Winston Counties.

Others extend from Blount County through Marshall and into DeKalb Counties.

Flash flood warnings continue for Cullman, eastern Morgan, Madison, Jackson, DeKalb Counties of North Alabama.

The great news is that the main band of rain and storms are definitely shifted southeastward now. The greatest threat for flooding is shifting along it, although you should be vigilant in other areas that are receiving rain as well.

Keep an eye on the weather overnight…just in case. Be safe!
