An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

WARM, HUMID DAYS: An upper ridge will keep Alabama very warm and dry today and tomorrow with a partly sunny, hazy sky. We rise into the mid 80s today, and tomorrow the high will be between 87 and 90 for most places. Dewpoints are way up in the 60s, and it will feel just like summer, which I guess is appropriate since this is mid-May. All of the big rains will stay well to the north and west.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: A weakening front will drift down into Alabama over the weekend, and that could very well kick off scattered showers, perhaps as early as Friday afternoon over the northern counties of the state. The weekend certainly won’t be a wash-out, and the sun will be out at times, just keep in mind a few passing showers are possible. The weather stays warm and humid with highs in the 80s.

NEXT WEEK: Rain and storms will be more widespread Monday as a short wave provides dynamic support. Looks like we have a chance of picking up between 1/2 and 1 inch of rain Monday statewide. Then, drier air moves in Tuesday, and the rest of the week looks warm and dry. The pattern still favors temperatures warmer than average through the rest of May with rain below average. See the Weather Xtreme video for more long range ideas.

AT THE BEACH: The Hangout Beach Music and Arts Festival is this weekend on the Alabama Gulf Coast (May 14-16)… the weather looks just fine. Dry and warm through Saturday on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and just a few isolated showers Sunday. On the immediate coast highs will be in the upper 70s, with mid 80s just a few miles inland. The sea water temperature remains in the mid 70s, and so no sign of any oil on the Alabama Gulf Coast from the slick in the Gulf of Mexico.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes.
