Showers and thunderstorms are numerous across the northwestern half of Alabama at this hour.

Activity is most widespread from Birmingham to Fayette southward into Sumter, Hale and Bibb Counties.

Additional heavy showers extended northeast through parts of the Birmingham area and into Northeast Alabama.

More storms were forming over Northwest Alabama over parts of Winston, Marion, Franklin and Colbert Counties.

At the Birmingham Airport, only 0.01 of an inch for rain as fallen, while I have picked up 1.18 inches in Trussville and JB has more than that northeast of here.

Ron Hughes down in Coker got one half in ch from one shower, with rainfall rates pushing 7 inches per hour.

Rain and storms will continue through the evening until a trough pushes through the area.
