The Tuscaloosa-Birmingham area is getting a break from severe thunderstorms–at least for the time being,
A long line of intense thunderstorms has moved over into East Alabama and extended all the way from Fort Payne in the NE corner of the state to Dothan in SE Alabama.
But we have one eye focused on Central Mississippi where a shorter line (but still very intense) of thunderstorms was moving toward the ENE. NWS in Jackson has been issuing warnings.
So we may have to deal with some more bad storms late tonight. However, there is a chance the storms will weaken when they reach our rain-cooled air.
