That band of showers still progressing toward the SW–the ones that entered NE Alabama at mid-afternoon.
At 5:45, the band of showers (maybe a thunderstorm or two) extended from along the Jackson-Madison County line down across the Guntersville area and southward to Central St. Clair County. A few of the showers are moderate to heavy.
Not much lightning involved but that could change.
The lead end of this band of showers now within about 35 air miles of Downtown Birmingham. They should reach NE Jefferson and the NE edge of Shelby County between 6 o’clock and 6:30.
Dark clouds now visible to the NE from NE Trussville.
