Most of the showers and thunderstorms avoided Alabama today, but not all. A better chance tomorrow and some of those storms could be strong.

The Storm Prediction Center has a good part of North Alabama under a slight risk for Tuesday–from about Birmingham northward.

At 10:30 tonight, a cluster of thunderstorms was crossing over into Georgia from NE Alabama. The trailing end was over East Alabama’s Cleburne County. These storms earlier tonight dumped heavy rain at Weaver in Calhoun County. There are two 3340 Skywatchers in the area. One reported 0.63 rain and the other 0.98. Continuous lightning from this storm could easily be seen from NE Trussville where I live. Muscadine reported 1.25 inches of rain!

Another cluster of storms was moving east near the Tennessee-Alabama border, mostly just north of the Huntsville.

Still another cluster was along the Tennessee-Mississippi border and some of these may reach NW Alabama later.
