Hot out there unless you’re under one of these small thunderstorms. Mainly 92-98 over Alabama, heat index over 100 in many locations.
Storms are forming along moisture maximum area from north MS into west and central AL. Small storm approaching Pinson/Center Point/Trusville/Tarrant, larger one will enter NW Alabama soon.
The air is a drier aloft today, so flooding is not likely, but with the dry air above allowing cool downdrafts to develop through evaporation, then very hot air below and those cool downdrafts accelerating downward because they’re so much more dense than the hot air, a few microbursts are possible. If you see a storm, good idea to go indoors, because microbursts often happen so fast that by the time a warning is issued, it’s over.
