Yesterday’s rain (SE River Center)

Yesterday’s rain was concentrated in west and southwest Alabama, and even there, most places got less than 0.25″. Expect more of the same today, with maybe even less coverage, and hot temperatures. Right now, there are a couple of showers with a few lightning strikes in west Alabama.

There are some indications (watch Brian’s video) that southerly flow off the Gulf will settle in over the weekend, moistening up the atmosphere enough to increase clouds some, bring a little better chance of scattered thunderstorms, and hold temperatures down a little bit Saturday and Sunday.
