After a very active Friday afternoon, weatherwise, the weather is settling down this evening. However still some thunderstorms producing locally heavy rain over on the east side of the state. The heaviest, from Dekalb County in the NE southward to Talladega and Chambers County to east of Montgomery and west of Troy.

Generally quiet on the west side of the state but more heavy showers over NE Mississippi from near Tupelo to north of Columbus.

Numerous moderate to strong storms in Mississippi dumping heavy amounts of rain especially over the North Central and Central sections. Slow erratic movements. They will probably weaken a lot before they creep into Alabama.

We will post a longer list of rain amounts later this evening but here are three reports:

1.42 SE Trussville
1.32 NE Trussville
3.30 Havana Junction (Hale County) thanks to long-time Friend Ed Avery

Most of the Havana Junction rain came in one hour and five minutes.

Another good chance of showers and thunderstorms across Alabama tomorrow!
