Showers and thunderstorms are scattered across all sections of Central and South Alabama at this hour.
The heaviest storms at this hour are over Fayette County from just south of Winfield to near and south of Fayette.
Storms are growing over Sumter County in West central Alabama, near and west of Livingston.
Developing cells near Springville in St. Clair County up to Highland Lake will move northeast into Etowah County
Other developing storms are approaching Cullman and Vinemont from the southwest. These cells have already put down some lightning.
Thunderstorms will continue to develop and grow in coverage and intensity through the afternoon hours across Alabama. Be alert for heavy rain, deadly lightning and the possibility of damaging wind gusts.
