If you look at the big picture, Alabama weather is slowly calming down.

But not completely.

NWS continues a Significant Weather Alert for lamar and marion County on the West Alabama border with Mississippi until 7:15.

This was because of lone of thunderstorms from Hamilton to 7 miles SE of Detroit (yes, Alabama has a Detroit. A Kansas, too!) The storms were taking their own good time moving NW at only 5 mph. Communities to be affected:

Pikeville
Henson Springs
Hamilton
Weston

Elsewhere in West Alabama, rain was still heavy over Marengo County and North Clarke County.

No actual warnings in the state at this time. However, we are watching some more very strong storms over NW Georgia. They are trying to sneak in the back door, into NE Alabama, while we are not watching.

But we are watching.

We will post some rain amounts this evening, A lot of folks got a drenching.

Don’t declare the historic drought over. Long, long way to go for that.
