Most of the significant rain and thunderstorms had shifted down into South Alabama.

At 9:45 pm, the heaviest was south of the Montgomery-Selma area although some moderate rain was hanging on over Greene and Sumter County in West Alabama.

A number of Alabama communities got some impressive rain amounts today and in the last 24 hpours. Many other areas were left high and dry. Some amounts:

0.80 Northport
0.29 Moundville
0.63 Jasper
0.16 Columbiana
1.11 Shelby Shores
2.22 Auburn
0.55 Birmingham
0.63 Bankhead Lock & Dam
0.39 Blount Springs
3.00 Sylacauga
0.53 Holt
2.88 Gorgas (South Walker County)

I like the way Vic Bell, the 33/40 WeatherWatcher for Black Creek (Etowah County) listed his total for today. His report said, “of course not”

Unless something big blossoms, this will probably be out last update. The rain seems to have stalled down south so we will at least keep one of our 12 weather-eyes on it.
