The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for part of South Jefferson and Central Shelby County expired at 4:00 p.m. That storm has almost completely disintegrated.
James reports from 33/40 that the rain was tremendous. There was also pea-size hail for a while and he was hearing of some power outages in parts of Riverchase.
Very few thunderstorms still in progress over North Alabama. One fairly strong one over NE Etowah County. By far the strongest storms were over East/Central and South/Central Alabama. It was pouring rain over Lee County, including the Auburn/Opelika area and Western Chambers County. Very strong storms also over Northern Monroe County in SW Alabama.
