This is to update the storm situation tonight and also to update (and add) some rain amounts.
Storms have persisted over NE Alabama for several hours tonight. At 9:30, it was raining over almost all of Etowah, Calhoun, Cheorokee and Cleburne County. Moderate to heavy in some areas.
This included some strong thunderstorms (lots of lightning) over NW Etowah County and into Marshall County.
We had a cell phone report earlier of vivid lightning (and frequent) near the Steel exit off I-59 and in the Rainbow City area.
