Thunderstorms hanging tough as the witching hour of midnight gets closer.

At 11: 30 pm, a broad zone of showers and thunderstorms over West Alabama extended from near Eiutaw and Greensboro northward into Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston and Cullman County.

Lightning is impressive and a number of communities are getting heavy rain. Some of the heaviest rain was over South pickens and Tuscaloosa County.

SPOT REPORT FROM TUSCALOOSA AT 1118 PM
Jack Warner reports from his place one mile east of the university on Jack Warner Parkway that “thunder is rediculous” and flooding is underway.

East of Birmingham, rain is also heavy over parts of Blount, St. Clair and North Talladega County.

A small group of separate thunderstorms developed over East Jefferson County and Trussville has been getting periods of heavy rain.

Everything is moving ESE.

The coffee is good.

Isn’t this what we have been wishing and praying for? A good soaking rain.

And a lot of it will have time to soak in in the darkness of the night and not be partially evaporated by a bright sun.

Life goes on. It will be better…
