NWS extended a Tornado Warning into SW Jefferson County and East/Central Tuscaloosa County until 12:15.

The main thunderstorm of interest was over SW Jefferson County about 10 miles west of Bessemer moving east. So far, no confirmed reports of a tornado touchdown from the warnings in Tuscaloosa and Jefferson Counties.

At 12:08 p.m., a line of storms extended from Demopolis to Greensboro to West Blocton and through the east edge of Tuscaloosa County into the Birmingham area. Everything was moving eastward. The worst part of the storm is now west of the Hueytown area.

Other heavy rain bands extended form NE Shelby County to east of Gadsden and to Ft. Payne and Scottsboro in extreme NE Alabama.

A big part of West and NW Alabama are now getting a break from the rain with none indicated west of Eutaw, Jasper and Moulton. Over in NE Alabama, the NWS issued a Significant Weather Alert for Cherokee County until 12:45.

Sorry to be late with these updates. I have been on wall-to-wall severe radio weather coverage for Cox radio stations here in Birmingham.
