Right after we thought things were calming down (and overall, they are), this one storm in Tuscaloosa County became the strongest of the day on radar, with intense rotation and a hook echo, indicating a likely tornado. Recent research at UAH has shown that sometimes, when the sun goes down and winds decrease at the ground, that extra momentum is shifted just above the ground, and wind shear increases for a while.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. TAKE SHELTER NOW.
