Just before lunch hour, a steady light to moderate rain continued over West and SW Jefferson county and extending into East Tuscaloosa County.
Moving due north. Almost all of that rain is sandwiched between the cities of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. A little further west, showers also covered most of Fayette, Lamar and Sumter County.
We have a report of moderate to heavy rain at Cottondale east of Tuscaloosa
Little or no lightning in Alabama.
To our west, showers a bit more numerous over Mississippi.
A line of thunderstorms extends from New Orleans southwestward across the NW Gulf of Mexico to just off the NE tip of Mexico. Lots of lightning with that but only upsetting the fish at sea.
