THIS AFTERNOON: Yet another delightful afternoon for Alabama, with bright sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.
THE WEEKEND: The weather pretty much stays the same tomorrow, but we will bring in the risk of widely scattered showers late tomorrow night (mainly after midnight) and Sunday with a surface boundary slipping into Northwest Alabama. Initially the front won’t have much upper support, but the main trough arrives Monday when rain will become widespread.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: It looks like a great weather night for high school football play-offs. With a fair sky, temperatures at kick off will be around 59º to 63º; it will drop into the 52º to 57º range by the end of the games. No rain will fall around Alabama today or tonight.
For tomorrow’s Auburn/Georgia game at Jordan-Hare Stadium (2:30 p.m. CST kickoff)… the sky will be partly sunny with a temperature in the upper 60s at kickoff, falling into the upper 50s by the final whistle. Alabama will host Mississippi State tomorrow night in Tuscaloosa (6:15 p.m. kickoff)… clouds will increase during the game, but there will be only a small risk of a shower. Temperatures will fall from the low 60s at kickoff into the mid 50s by the fourth quarter.
NEXT WEEK: Still looks like a good, beneficial rain for Alabama Monday and Monday night with amounts of 1 to 2 inches likely. No severe weather, and not much thunder with a stable airmass in place. The rain ends early Tuesday, with some clearing by Tuesday afternoon. The latter half of the week will be cool and dry, with a freeze possible by Friday morning.
THANKSGIVING WEEK: The 12Z GFS doesn’t look as cold over Canada, and keeps Alabama in a rather benign weather pattern for the Thanksgiving holiday. See the Weather Xtreme video for complete details.
TROPICS: A disturbance in the southern Caribbean has some chance of becoming a tropical depression in coming days, but we won’t expect it to impact the Gulf of Mexico, Again, check out the Weather Xtreme video for details.
