The line of storms, not as distinct as earlier, extended from near Guntersville and Fort Payne in Northeast Alabama…southwestward to near Oneonta, Birmingham, across East and Southeast Tuscaloosa County to near Greensboro in Hale County. The line of storms were progressing eastward while the individual storms were moving northeast.
The line of storms not quite as well-defined as earlier but they should not be taken lightly.
The strongest storms were along the Tuscaloosa-Bibb County line.
Overall, the storms have weakened but there are fluctuations. Lightning detection equipment shows a significant decrease in nature’s electricity. Frequent thunder where I live in NE Trussville. Little 8-pound dog under the bed.
A number of counties in Northwest Alabama are through with this mean intrusion of dangerous storms How dare they mess up our first day of 2011.
Several counties behind the line no longer under a Tornado Watch.
We still do not have confirmed reports of notable damage but sometimes daylight can change the story.
