The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) is the special NWS facility based at Norman, Okla., that closely watches the entire nation for the possibility of severe weather. They also issue all watched for the country, including Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Watches.
They are now watching closely for the possibility of one or more Tornado Watches for areas from North Mississippi and Extreme NW Alabama northward through West and Central Tennessee and Kentucky.
They indicate that it could be issued as soon as early afternoon today.
This would include the possibility of a few tornadoes and maybe a few strong ones…
