See this meteogram for Birmingham… snow accumulation from model output. Note that we have three model runs 7 to 11 inches here. Again, this is NOT a forecast, but something we must consider as we get closer to the event. The new 00Z NAM is suggesting around 10 inches for Birmingham as well.

Another pleasant fall day is on tap in Alabama as cool and dry conditions persist for another day. An upper-level ridge to our west and a building upper-level trough to our east will keep up in dry northerly flow with warming temperatures through the week. Continue reading

A strong, dry cold front pushed through Alabama yesterday, and much cooler drier air been filtering into the state throughout the night. This weekend will feature highs and lows quite seasonable for this time of year with elevated winds today. As we head into next week, an upper-level ridge from the west will cause temperatures to increase each day. Alabama will remain rain-free through the 7 day period. Continue reading
