There is good news on the weather front and also a bit of bad news.
The Tornado Watch has been canceled everywhere that it was in effect in Alabama.
Although a line of showers and some storms continues to move eastward into East Alabama it has weakened greatly. The NWS considers the threat over for the entire area.
The bad and sad news is that we did not get nearly enough rain from this event across Central and North Alabama. It was a clear-cut case of us getting cut off from our dear friend, the Gulf of Mexico because of widespread heavy showers and storms over the south third of the state.
South Alabama was too greedy.
A lot of rain has been falling over the south since before daybreak Thursday. It is literally pouring along the Alabama-Northwest Florida Coast this morning also.
It will be very interesting to see how much.
Later today, I will compile a list of rain amounts from all available sources.
So, I suppose this will be our last update although if something were to grow stronger again, we will be here.
Sure glad that nothing major happened but I was looking forward to an all night stay-awake. The pot of fresh coffee that finished brewing a few minutes ago will go down the drain.
Unless I stay up anyway.
Nope…I will get some shut-eye.
Out of here. Life goes on as long as there is good coffee.
We sincerely appreciate all the reports. You are awesome!
