A Freezing Rain Advisory has been extended and expanded to include Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, and Coosa Counties. It expires at 12:00 PM today, but additional showers of rain, freezing rain, and sleet could continue through the afternoon as temperatures struggle just to get into the lower 30s over the central part of the state:
Bridges are icy in the Montgomery & Auburn areas, and additional bridge icing could occur in the advisory area through late morning. Temperatures are only in the 20s, but as precipitation continues to develop to the west, we will be considering an adjustment to the high temperature forecast for today. Right now, we’re thinking mid-30s. That might be a little too warm due to a lack of sun and more precipitation than earlier expected.
We’ll keep you updated!
