As James mentions in the video from Tuesday afternoon, it looks like the next couple of weeks may be colder than normal. Not that it wasn’t cold Tuesday morning…many valley locations recieved frost. Very cold air is starting to pool in northern Canada and Alaska (large area below 10). And, several models are now showing a surge of very cold air coming southward next week.

Looking at the GFS, a cold front which will only re-inforce our cool air, is in the northern Plains this morning. The next cold front will come in early next Tuesday, bringing the coldest air of the season.

Temperatures. Note that lows in the 30s are forecast well into south Alabama, with 20s in northeast Alabama by next Tuesday morning. We’ll see!
