The 00 UTC model runs have come in a little drier again, indicating rain amounts in BHM with the next big system only around 0.25″. But, with some unstable air and the chance of thunderstorms thrown in, some spots could get more.
The main cold front should come through Alabama Wednesday night, bringing showers and thunderstorms. Right now, it looks like the best chance for heavier rain (and maybe strong storms) will stay to our north, since the front will come through Tennessee during daytime heating. But, it will be warm and humid here, with temperatures Wednesday approaching 80, so we could see a strong storm or two Wednesday afternoon or Wednesday night. Winds just off the surface will be strong, so damaging wind would be the main threat.
But, this does not look like a big deal at this point. If the front moves a little faster, we may get heavier rain. We’ll see.
