In all my zillion years of weather work (all in Alabama) I have never seen a 30-inch rain deficit.
But we are almost there.
In Anniston.
Here are a few rain deficiency reports as of this morning:
29.05 inches in Anniston
28.35 Tuscaloosa
21.86 Birmingham Airport
15.59 Montgomery
South Alabama has fared better in this drought all along.
Maybe the rain now in our forecast will snatch Anniston away from reaching 30 inches of missing rain in one calendar year.
