Cold front struggling to get through Alabama this morning but it will do so. The front is between Birmingham and Alexander City. Good temperature contrasts.
It was 44 early this morning in Muscle Shoals with a NW wind gusting over 25 mph while it was 46 in Huntsville and 57 in Birmingham. South of the front it was 66 in Montgomery and a mild 68 in Alexander City and Evergreen.
A line of showers marks the front. They extend from Coosa County NE to south of Anniston and into North Georgia. Almost all the lightning is over North Georgia where th heavier rain is. Main showers in Alabama were over Coosa County.
We will sort all this out a little later including overnight rain amounts. I can tell you quickly, that the Birmingham-Tuscaloosa area got shortchanged as the line of storms during the night dropped most of the storms on the south end of the line before they got here.
