A wide band of showers continues to move steadily eastward across Mississippi late this afternoon.
The leading eastern edge of the showers was approaching the Alabama border just before 5 o’clock.
The heaviest showers and some thunderstorms extended from the New Orleans area up into South Mississippi approaching Gulfport and Biloxi. Those will move into SW Alabama including the Mobile area.
It may be 2 or 3 hours before these showers reach the Greater Birmingham area.
