No formal warnings in effect across the area now but strong storms continue to roam across Jefferson County .

Rain has been especially heavy in the west part of the county. Our 33/40 Skywatcher for Concord/Hueytown reported that it was coming down at the rate of over 4 inches per hour.

There is almost certain to be some street flooding in the area.

Lightning at times was so frequent and prounced that it was house-shaking.

At 9:20, the strongest storms extended from Birmingham down into East Tuscaloosa County.

The main storms will surely be out of jefferson and Tuscaloosa County by around 10 pm.

The Tornado Watch has already been cancelled for numerous NW Alabama counties. Storms have weakened a lot except for the rain intensity and the dangerous lightning.

Down in far West Alabama, Cuba reports 1.04 inches of rain and about 1.50 at Gorgas in East Walker County.
