This is not an exhaustive list, instead a typical sampling from around the state.

My good friend in Steele reminded me that this was a “slow, steady, soaking rain with so little wind to cause any evaporation.”

He is correct. Our rain in the last 24 hours fell slow enough that almost all of it soaked into old thirsty Mother Earth:

0.50 Steele
0.18 Anniston Airport
0.20 Birmingham Airport
0.20 Tuscaloosa Airport
0.14 Huntsville
0.23 Montgomery/Dannelly Field
0.02 Troy
0.43 Crossville
0.26 Desoto State Park
0.46 Blountsville
0.39 Gadsden
0.50 Oneonta
0.55 Remlap

Radar does not show rain in the state at 9:35 am although there may be a few spots of light drizzle, to light to show up on raindar.

EARLY, EARLY SIGN OF SPRING
I hope not because winter is my second favorite season–right behind autumn. However, Vic Bell, the 3340 Skywatcher for Scrougeout/Black Creek in NE Etowah County reported that, at one time this morning, there were 87 American Goldfinches on his bird feeders.
