Scroll down to Bill Murray’s post for a complete list of temperatures and other information.

Just to add a couple of things…NWS reports that ALDOT was out taking the temperature of some bridges earlier in central Alabama, and they were near freezing. Also, higher elevations, even slight hills, can make a difference in icing. In a situation where the air is being stirred up by light wind, the temperature can drop up to 1 degree per 200 feet elevation. So, it could be 34 at the bottom of a hill and icy at the top. Remember this if you have to get out and drive tonight/early tomorrow morning. The best advice is not to drive until at least after 10 am. Even in the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa areas, where icing is not as bad as it is to the NW, icing could occur in some spots tonight, and the NWS is leaving the Winter Weather Advisory in effect all the way south to Meridian, Calera, and Roanoke.

It is 31 at Deerfoot Parkway in NE Jefferson County, and 32 in Vestavia. With the heaviest precipitation coming in over the next 2 or 3 hours, other spots may drop to freezing that have not already.
